Microchip Technology Buys EqcoLogic

Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology said late Thursday that it has acquired European semiconductor firm EqcoLogic. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. EqcoLogic is a developer of equalizer and coaxial transceiver products, and is a spinout of Vrije Universiteit Brussel. EqcoLogic's technology is used to improve the reliability of tranmitted data over long distances using standard, coax cable.
