Microchip Buys Taiwanese Bluetooth Provider

Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology announced this morning that it has acquired a Taiwanese provider of Bluetooth and wireless products, ISSC Technologies Corporation (ISSC). MicroChip said it will pay approximately $328.5M for ISSC in cash. The deal will expand Microchip's presence in the Bluetooth, wireless, and internet-of-things (IoT) market. Microchip said ISSC had net sales of $69.2M for the calendar 2013 year.
