Microchip Sponsors Robotics Championship
Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology, which develops microcontrollers, analog components, and other electronics components, said today that it is sponsoring the 2011 VEX Robotics World Championship being held this week in Florida. The firm also said it is sponsoring two regional competition in Arizona in the 2011-2012 competition season. The 2011 VEX Robotics World Championship pits middle school, high school, and college students to build robot designs; Microchip's 8-bit microcontrollers are being used by competitors in kits for the competition. Microchip did not say how much it would be investing in the sponsorship.
