Microchip Opens Online Commerce Efforts

Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology, a provider of microcontrollers and analog semiconductors, has started to sell its development software via download. The firm said today that it will provide its development software products online, along with third party software tools for its products. The firm will initially offer its MPLAB C18 and MPLAB C30 C compilers, used for developing products with the firm's 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers.
