Microchip Buys ZeroG Wireless
Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology said today that it has acquired ZeroG Wireless, a startup based in Sunnyvale, California, developing embedded Wi-Fi semiconductors. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. ZeroG Wireless was venture backed by Battery Ventures, Cisco Corp., Greylock Partners, and Morgenthaler Ventures. Microchip, which develops microcontrollers and analog semiconductors, said the acquisition would strengthen its wireless offerings.
