MapQuest Goes To The Dogs (And Cats)

In an interesting bid to get users to choose the company's mapping apps instead of the competition, MapQuest has rolled out a new feature of its iPhone and Android apps, which let users pick a number of dog and cat icons to represent them in a map. MapQuest had already offered up many different icons to represent your location on its map apps--but the new release of its apps now specifically let users choose a wide range of dogs and cats they might like as their icon. The company said the move is an homage to "fido and our feline companions".
