M2E Power Appoints CEO

Alternative energy firm M2E Power Inc. reported Monday that it has hired Eric C. Apfelbach as president and chief executive officer. The Boise, Idaho-based business described Apfelbach as a 20-plus-year management and manufacturing veteran who most recently served as president and CEO of Virent Energy Systems Inc. Prior to Virent, M2E noted, Apfelbach was founder, president and CEO of Alfalight Inc. He has also held positions with Planar Systems Inc., Applied Materials and Mostek. Established on Department of Energy-funded research conducted at the Idaho National Laboratory, M2E Power is a privately held company funded by OVP Venture Partners, @Ventures and Highway 12 Ventures.
