Local Matters Unveils LocalGuides.com Beta

Local Matters Inc. has launched a new local search Web site, the company announced Thursday. Called LocalGuides.com, the beta site was designed to help consumers organize their local shopping and activity planning. Local Matters said users will be able to personalize the service and make custom guides, from simple shopping lists to a complex selection of favorites. The company added that users can also build upon other users’ lists or adopt pre-made “starter guides.” Based in Denver, Local Matters develops local search software for Yellow Page publishers and 411 service providers.
