Intel Investment Plan To Benefit Arizona

A big investment plan by chip maker Intel, announced Tuesday, is set to benefit Arizona in a huge way. Intel said Tuesday that it plans to spend $6 to $8 billion in upgrading and constructing factories in the U.S., including upgrades its two factories (Fab 12 and Fab 32) located in Arizona. According to Intel, the investment is expected to create around 6,000 to 8,000 construction jobs, and 800-1,000 permanent high tech jobs across its Oregon and Arizona facilities. Intel did not say specifically how much would go into its Arizona operations, but said it hoped that its multi-billion dollar investment will create thousands of new jobs, attracting more high-wage, high-tech manufacturing jobs at its locations.
