IHS Buys Emerging Energy Research

Englewood, Colorado-based IHS said Wednesday that it has acquired Emerging Energy Research, a provider of advice covering the emerging energy sector. IHS said the deal was worth approximately $18M. Emerging Energy Research provides advisory services focused in technological, regulatory, and competitive trends in the global emerging energy sector. IHS said the buy will strengthen and grow its capabilities in the environment space. Emerging Energy Research was founded in 2003, and has offices in Cambrige, Mass. and Barcelona, Spain.
