IHS Completes R.L. Polk & Co. Buy

Englewood, Colorado-based IHS said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of automative information provider R.L. Polk & Co.. The deal is worth around $1.4 billion, and had originally been announced in June. The new acquisition gives IHS ownership of a number of automotive information brands, including both Polk and CARFAX. IHS owns a wide range of information businesses, providing analysis, experts, and content on a very broad range of industries.
