iMergent Lays off 20 Percent of Sales, Operations

iMergent Inc., an Orem, Utah-based publisher of eCommerce software for small businesses and entrepreneurs, announced Thursday that it is slashing its sales team and operations staff by some 20 percent. Don Danks, iMergent’s chief executive officer, explained that the layoffs were the result of the company launching a new title, StoresOnline Express, a streamlined version of its flagship eCommerce platform, StoresOnline Pro. Danks said the estimated 20 percent reduction in iMergent's employee base should reduce its operating expenses by 15-20 percent, a savings of some $1 million annually, plus commissions..
