Fusion-io Gets Investment From Samsung

Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io, a developer of solid state storage, announced Tuesday that it has received an investment from Samsung. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. According to Fusion-io, the investment comes alongside a deal between the companies to jointly evaluate technology for new SSD applications. Samsung is a major manufacturer of NAND flash memory. The strategic investments comes on top of a major, $47.9M funding round from Dell Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and Sumitomo earlier this year. More information »
