FreeWave Unveils 3.3-3.5 GHz Wireless Radio

FreeWave Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of high-bandwidth spread-spectrum radios, has developed a new product that will function in the 3.3-3.5 GHz band, the company announced Monday. The spread-spectrum radio, called the 3400SMR, evolved from concept to prototype in less than five weeks. It is available in board-level and enclosed formats and has a small footprint that FreeWave said is optimal for wireless OEM applications in the telecommunications industry. The company added that the 3400SMR is in production and boasts up to a 20-mile range. FreeWave Technologies is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.
