First Solar Buys Solar Projects From Partner

Tempe, Arizona-based solar panel manufacturer First Solar has acquired a number of solar power projects in California and the Southwest, the firm said today. According to First Solar, it has completed acquisition of a portion of Edison Mission Group's solar project development pipeline, ranging from 20 to 150MW. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. First Solar said the acquisition will diversify its existing portfolio of utility-scale, thin film photovoltaic power projects. Edison Mission Group has been working with First Solar on the projects since 2008, with Edison Mission Group focused on land acquisition and permitting of those projects for First Solar.
