DISH Takes Aim At Illegal Chinese Content Streaming In US

Englewood, Colorado-based DISH, along with Chinese content providers TVB (USA) and CCTV, said this morning that they have filed a lawsuit to counter what they called is "massive piracy" being enabled by a set-top box called the h.TV. The three said they filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, over illegal streaming of Cantonese-language TV programming in the United States. DISH owns the rights to both TVB and CCTV in the U.S. HTV International Limited's set-top box captures TVB and CCTV programs in China, and then streams them over the Internet to users in the United States.
