DISH Rolls Out Google TV Option

Englewood, Colorado-based DISH Network has rolled out its Google TV product, saying Wednesday that it has begun selling its Google TV add on for its subscribers. DISH said it is now selling its Google TV solution, a combination of Logitech's Revue for Google TV, and its DVR integration service. The Revue device costs $179, and requires a $4 a month DVR integration fee. DISH said its Google TV service will offer search across both Web and DVR content, and also allows users to surf the web, check email, interact with social media, and more. DISH said it would be adding the Google TV support in early October. The deal on the Logitech Revue is a substantial discount from the retail price of the device, which is offered up at $299 by Logitech; DISH said that the special pricing on the Revue is only available direct from the company. Google TV is Google's new product which combines television and web searching, and also pulls in web-based applications onto a TV's display.
