A group of executives in the Denver area have launched a new group, TechrIot, aimed at the Internet of Things (IoT) market. The group--which had its first meeting on Wednesday evening--said it is looking to attract innovators, technologists, academics, investors and others interested in Internet-of-Things. The group's organizers include Vic Ahmed of Innovation Pavilion; Murdoch Fitzgerald of Arrow Electronics; Andy Hardy of NXP; Tia Cassett of Qualcomm; Josh Oakhurt at Skookum Digital Works; the Denver South Economic Development Partnership; Manufacturers Edge; and TiE Rockies. TechrIot says it hopes to bring together Colorado innovators, entrepreneurs and investors to ideate, launch and scale next-generation connected devices, with a plan to expand the group nationwide in the future.
