DAZ 3D Unveils Budget Version of Modeling Tool

Draper, Utah-based DAZ 3D, a developer of 3-D models and software, reported Thursday that it has released a cheaper, stripped-down version of its flagship Carrara modeling tool. DAZ 3D said the new application, called Carrara 3D Express, costs much less than its standard and Pro editions yet still introduces novice modelers to the basics of 3-D rendering, including the creation of 3-D portraits, animations and landscape art. DAZ 3D, also known as DAZ Productions Inc., is a privately held company headquartered in Draper, Utah. The firm's software is used by animators for creating 3D animations and games.
