DAZ 3D-Gizmoz Rolls Out Avatar Software

Draper, Utah-based DAZ 3D-Gizmoz said yesterday that it has rolled out its avatar personalization software, Digimi. The firm said that the new software takes technology from both DAZ 3D and Gizmoz, and provides avatar customization for developers of games, online worlds, and real-time environments. DAZ 3D and Gizmoz merged in December, gaining funding from Benchmark Capital, Highway 12 Ventures, Columbia Capital, DOCOMO Capital and Village Ventures. Gizmoz was based in Tel Aviv, Israel, where the combined firm continues to have operations.
