St. George, Utah-based Busybusy, which develops software to help with labor and equipment time tracking for construction companies, has received a round of funding from Caterpillar Ventures, the venture capital arm of heavy equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. Size of the funding was not announced. As part of the funding, busybusy's technology will be offered as a subscription-based service alongside Caterpillar's Cat Connect offerings. busybusy's CEO is Isaac Barlow. Caterpillar's Cat Connect includes hardware, software, and services to help Caterpillar's customers improve their operations; Caterpillar said the investment and partnership with busybusy is a "natural extension" of the digital offerings it is offering up to its customers, particularly as labor is one of the most significant variable expenses on the jobsite.
