Bulb Raises $6M For Educational Portfolio Software, Expands Team

Fort Collins, Colorado- and Austin, Texas-based Bulb, a developer of software for the education market aimed at helping students showcase their work to teachers, has raised $6M in a funding round, and hired a long list of executives. Source of that new funding round was not announced. Bulb says it has appointed Ed Gillispie as Chief Operating Officer, R. Scott Harris as Vice President of Marketing, and added Sarah Greenspan, Wanda Knight, Natasha King, Allison Gosney, and Bria Jones as Directors of District Partnerships. Gillispie was at Dell, Harris was formerly at Social Factor, and also had served at Dell, Austin Ventures, and elsewhere; Greenspan's experience includes time at Absolute Software and Dell; Knight was at Dell, Cisco and Absolute Software; Gosney's experience is in educational publishing; and Jones was at Premier Global Services, and other firms. Bulb is led by Eric Goldreyer. Bulb was created in Fort Collins, by John and David Runkles, brothers and Colorado State University alumni, along with Eric Goldreyer, Bob Bush and Erik Petrik.
