Buildproof Gets Investment

Buildproof, a construction services e-commerce firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has scored a round of funding from new venture firm NotePad Ventures, NotePad Ventures announced Tuesday. NotePad Ventures said it also orchestrated a strategic alliance between Buildproof and an established brand in the online contractor services market, ServiceMagic.com. Jeffrey Rassas of NotePad becomes Buildproof's chairman as part of the funding. The fledgling, Phoenix-based venture capital firm declined to specify the amount of its contribution, which it described as "substantial." Established about a year ago, NotePad Ventures said it has launched two funds and expects to invest as much as $5 million in Arizona-based companies in the near future. More information »
