Boulder Power Looks To Displace Noisy Gas Generators

Boulder Power Technologies, a new Boulder startup, said today that it has launched a new product aimed at replacing those noisy, gas powered generators you see at job sites or outdoor events. The company says it has rolled out a new product called the PowerTap 2000, which uses Lithium ion batteries as a power source. The company is initially selling the products only in Colorado. The company said the device provides up to 6000 watts of power (2000 watts continuously) for construction sites, mobile businesses, and other uses. The portable device charges through a standard, household electrical outlet. Pricing was not announced by the company. The company says its system runs up to 12 hours on a charge.
