Aztek Signs Telecom Firm

Aztek Networks, a manufacturer of switch consolidation and network migration equipment, revealed Monday that D&E Communications is the first customer to utilize its 5000S and 5000SL solutions for National Exchange Carrier Association settlements. D&E Communications—the nation's 19th-largest telephone company according to Aztek—is an integrated communications provider offering high-speed data and local and long distance telephone services to communities in Central Pennsylvania. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Aztek said its 5000S and 5000SL switches were designed as reliable, cost-effective replacements for outdated remote switches. The Boulder, Colo.-based company noted that the two products offer uninterrupted local calling and access to 911 emergency services.
