Associated Content Taps Google Vet As CEO

Denver-based Associated Content announced Monday that it has hired former Google and CBS executive Patrick Keane as chief executive officer. The Denver-based firm said Keane previously was chief marketing officer of CBS Interactive. Before that, Associated Content noted, he spent more than four years as chief of Google's advertising sales strategy. According to the company, he also founded Google's annual thought leadership forum, Zeitgeist, and established and directed Google's North American field marketing team. Associated Content operates an online site which allows users to submit content on any subject, and get paid based on traffic to their articles. The firm is privately held, backed by investors Tim Armstrong, Canaan Partners and SoftBank Capital.
