Ascent Solar Gets $10M IN PIPE

Thornton, Colorado-based Ascent Solar Technologies, the developer of thin-film solar panels and associated electronics accessories, reported this morning that it has raised $10M in a registered direct offering. The funding came from Ironridge Technology Co. According to the company, the private investment is split between a $5M tranche due this week, and a $5M tranche to close later in 2013 or the early part of 2014. The company said the funding will go towards continued operations and expansion of its retail channels.
