Amtech Hails $20M In Solar Orders

Tempe, Arizona-based Amtech Systems, a supplier of equipment and automation products for the solar cell, semiconductor, and silicon wafer market, reports today that it has added another $20M in solar orders. The firm said the orders came for its diffusion processing systems, and came from two new customers and several existing customers in Asia. Names of those customers were not disclosed. The firm said it has now racked up $118M in solar orders in fiscal 2010, which it says is a record for the company. The firm has been putting its weight behind its solar business, which is growing much faster than the firm's traditional semiconductor customer base.
