World Heart Corp. Gets $25.3M In PIPE

Salt Lake City-based World Heart Corporation, a developer of implantable heart assist pumps, has raised $25.3M in an investment from a number of venture capital investors. The publicly held firm said the private placement came from Special Situations Funds, Venrock and New Leaf Venture Partners, and several new investors. The placement was managed by Lazard Capital Markets and Wedbush pacGrow Life Sciences. World Heart's medical devices are used for treating heart failure. More information »
