UQM Taps Chrysler For New President and CEO
Longmont, Colorado-based UQM Technologies, the developer of electric motors and other alternative energy systems for the automotive and other markets, said today that it has tapped Eric Ridenour, former Chief Operating Officer of the Chrysler Group, as its President and Chief Operating Officer. UQM said that Ridenour will join the firm on September 1st, and become CEO of the firm on December 1st. Current CEo William G. Rankin will transition to Chairman of the firm's board of directors. UQM said that Ridenour spent 21 years with the Chrysler Group, including serving as COO and Member of the Board of Management at DaimlerChrysler AG. Rankin, who will step down in November, has been at UQM for nearly 18 years, the firm said.
