UGOBE Moves HQ To Idaho

Robotic toy manufacturer UGOBE Inc. reported Monday that it is relocating its headquarters from Emeryville, Calif., to the Boise, Idaho, suburb of Eagle. The move, UGOBE explained, will consolidate its sales and operations under the same roof as its design, research and development activities, which have been based in Eagle for several years. John Sosoka, UGOBE's chief technology officer and a co-founder of the company, credited the "depth and loyalty" of Idaho's technical workforce and the "pro-business attitudes" of local and state governments for convincing UGOBE to relocate. UGOBE is best known for Pleo, an autonomous robotic baby dinosaur capable of interacting with its owners and environment. The privately held company is backed by Band of Angels, First Round Capital, Frontier Management Group, Hyield Venture Capital and Maxima Capital.
