TechStars Opens 2009 Applications

Boulder, Colorado-based Techstars, the program that helps to seed fund and mentor startups, opened up applications for the firm's 2009 class over the weekend. Techstars takes aspiring entrepreneurs, provides a small amount of funding for an equity stake, and helps to mentor companies over a summer. This year, the firm said it will select 10 companies where it will invest $18,000 in seed funding. The group--an effort backed by David Cohen, Brad Feld, Jared Polis, and David Brown--had 393 companies apply last year.
