Tandberg Rolls LTO-4 Drive

Tandberg Data announced Monday that the firm has shipped a new version of the firm's LTO tape drive for the storage market. The firm's new LTO-4 drive provides 800 GB native capacity, 120 MB/s native transfer rate, data encryption, and support for SCSI, SAS, or Fibre Channel host interfaces. The company said its new storage hardware is 50 percent faster than its previous generation of products. The equipment is used by companies to store and back up their data. Tandberg's tape division, which is based in Boulder, Colorado, was formerly Exabyte. Tandberg acquired Exabyte in November of last year.
