Tagwhat Launches Augmented Reality Site

Boulder, Colorado-based TagWhat is launching a new site today focused on allowing users to share "tags" of real time locations. The augmented reality service, which currently runs on Android phones and says is in the process of getting Apple approval on its iPhone app, allows users to create their own personal tags of any location on earth, and also view tags created by other users in real time. The firm said users can place digital tags anywhere on earth, and hold up their camera phones to see geo-contextual tags from friends and community members when they walk down the street. Among other features of the service are ability to search for specific content and keywords and also online browsing of tags and maps. TagWhat--which was created by Iryss--said the service is free to users.
