Starbridge, Impulse Partner On FPGA Tools

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Starbridge Systems, and Kirkland, Washington-based Impulse Accelerated Technologies said today that the two companies are collaborating on new tools for FPGA development. The two companies said they are integrating Impulse's C-to-FPGA compiling tools and Starbridge's Viva graphical entry tools. The tools allow for the development of C-language code to define hardware designs, and are used in system-level design by semiconductor designers. The firms' Platform Support Package takes C-language descriptions and translates them into VHDL or Verilog, hardware-level output files which work with Starbridge's semiconductor design tools.
