Sorenson Taps Intrado

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Sorenson Communications announced this morning that it is in a partnership with Colorado-based Intrado to connect its services into local 9-1-1 and emergency call centers. Sorenson provides technology for the deaf and hard of hearing via broadband connections. Sorenson said that 911 calls with Sorenson's video relay service for the deaf will be dispatched to local emergency services. Those 9-1-1 calls will be relayed through an American Sign Language interpreter.
