Sorenson Media Enhances Compression Hardware

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Sorenson Media announced today that the company has upgraded the firm's PCI-X and PCI-E acceleration hardware for its encoding and compression software. The firm's SqueezeHD XCEL 2.0 product provides acceleration of video encoding and video capture. According to Sorenson the new hardware now adds a H.264 AVC codec, MPEG2, and resolution independent operation. Sorenson is a provider of encoding and compression of video streams.
