Solidfire Acquired For $870M

Boulder-based solid state storage developer SolidFire has been acquird by NetApp, in a deal worth $870M in cash, NetApp announced Monday. SolidFire develops flash-based storage systems, used in the data center. According to NetApp, the buy will help it accelerate adoption of all-flash data centers, and offer up flash arrays for multiple, market segments. SolidFire, led by Dave Wright, was founded in 2010, and had raised $150M n funding from Greenspring Associates, New Enterprise Associates, Novak Biddle Venture Partners, Samsun VEntures, Valhalla Partners, as well as angels.
