Precog Takes On Data Warehousing, Big Data

A new, Boulder-based startup, Precog, is trying to make data warehousing and analysis easier, by creating a new, big data platform aimed at allows users to analyze massive amount of real world data. The startup, founded by John De Goes, said its platform combines the scalability of big data platforms with the number-crunching power of statistical tools. The firm said its platform helps development teams build in advanced, big data capabilities directly into their applications. The new company came out of De Goes experience buildling big data features into a product at Socialmedia.com, where he was VP of engineering. The company said its platform is already being used by SnapEngage, the provider of online sales and support tools. Precog rolled out its beta service Monday.
