PartMiner Adds Fasteners to Database

PartMiner Inc. has expanded its flagship CAPS database to include an extensive assortment of fastener and hardware components, the company revealed Tuesday. PartMiner said the new data set is an important addition because mechanical and fastener content represents as much as 30 percent of the materials cost in electronic assembly. The new content is available at no extra charge for CAPS subscribers and includes bolts, knobs, nuts, rivets, standoffs, studs, screws and washers. Based in Centennial, Colo., PartMiner maintains an online database of electronic parts and components, used by design engineers to locate components.
