Novell Adds Cross Platform Management

Novell has launched a new set of software targeted at managing virtual machines and other computing resources, the firm said this week. The new Novell ZENworks Orchestrator manages not only Novell's own software and the XEN virtualization environment, but also manages virtual devices under VMware and Microsoft virtualization software. According to Novell, the product will automate deployment and management of those environments. The firm also rolled out two other products in the space, Novell ZENworks HPC management to manage distributed Java applictions; and ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management, which provides asset reporting for IT managers.
