NewsGator Adds Video Option

Denver-based NewsGator, the developer of social networking software for enterprises, said this week that it has added a new, video content support as part of its Social Sites 2010 software. The firm said that the new video support allows users to add employee-generated video content into Microsoft SharePoint, as part of its NewsGator Social Sites 2010 product. The firm said the feature is specifically aimed at helping to avoid employee temptation to post proprietary videos to public websites, while providing the same commenting and discussion features available on those sites. The firm appears to be looking to help its customers avoid the issues that occur when corporate users try to use sites like YouTube to post internal videos.
