Micron Funds Server Maker

Boise, Idaho-based Micron Technology is the lead investor in a developer of flash memory-based servers based in Sweden. Stockholm, Sweden-based Edgeware, whose servers are used to deliver TV and video servers, said that Micron led its $8M, Series B funding round this week. Micron joins Series A investors Amadeus Capital Partners and Creandum Advisor in the funding. Edgeware's products are used for delivering TV services over teleco and cable; the firm uses NAND flash memory--from Micron--in its servers, instead of rotating disk drives.
