Microchip Ships Power Regulator
Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology said today that it is shipping a new component used for consumer applications, computers, and industrial uses. The firm's new 1.5A LDO is a component used by electronics designers to regulate the power usage of hardware. The new MCP1727 device is a low-power LDO (low dropout regulator) is available in a 8-pin SOIC or 3mmx3mm DFN package. The firm is targeting the device toward use with high-performance embedded processors and next-generation logic cores. Microchip designs microcontroller and analog semiconductors for the electronics industry.
