Microchip: Best Quarter, Ever
Chandler, Arizona-based Microchip Technology, a manufacturer of semiconductor products, said this week that it had its "best quarter ever". The firm said it had net sales of $320.8M, boosted by its acquisition of Silicon Storage Technology, record net sales of 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers; and record net sales of analog products. In a positive sign for the semiconductor industry, the firm said its factories were running at "higher levels of production output than they have ever produced in the history of the company."
