Level 3 Part Of Big Broadband Project

Broomfield, Colorado-based Level 3 Communications said this morning that its network is being used as part of a big, $66.6M project o bring broadband into California's Central Valley. The company said that over 300 route miles of its infrastructure will be used as part of the creation of a 1,300 mile, high-capacity fiber-based project to serve rural, undeserved areas in 18 counties in California's Central Valley. The effort is being partially funded through a $46.6M, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) investment. Level 3 did not say what the financial impact of the deal will be on its finances.
