Jabber Connects With Microsoft

Denver Colorado-based instant messaging software provider Jabber announced this morning that it has released a new gateway that allows customers to connect their instant messaging systems to Microsoft's Live Communications Server (LCS). The company's new LCS Gateway is an add on to Jabber's XCP instant messaging platform, and allows Jabber and Microsoft LCS clients to subscribe to both presence information, contact lists, and messages. The new component follows a recently introduced AOL Instant Messaging (AIM) gateway introduced by the company last week. The new gateway works with Microsoft Live Communication Server 2005 SP1. Jabber's XCP gateway is an EMPP-based instant messaging solution. Jabber is backed by France Telecom, Intel Capital, Jona, and Webb Interactive Services.
