Infinia Raises $6.5M

Ogden, Utah-based Infinia Corp., a developer of Stirling engine technology for the energy market, has raised $6.5M out of an ongoing $25M funding round, according to a regulatory filing from the firm. Infinia's first product is being aimed at the solar power market, for use in utility scale power plants. Source of the new funding has not been disclosed, however, the firm's board includes representatives from EQUUS Total Return and GLG Partners. The firm has also previously raised funding from Foxconn Technology Group, Idealab, Black Pearl Capital, Vulcan Capital, Wexford Capital, and Power Play Energy. Infinia moved to Utah in June, after laying off employees at its former headquarters in Washington. The firm had been manufacturing its products in Ogden. More information »
