Honeywell, U.S. Display Consortium In Flat Panel Agreement

Tempe, Arizona-based Honeywell Electronic Materials and the U.S. Display Consortium, a partnership developing the supply chain for the flat panel display industry, said today that they are in an agreement to develop new materials for flat panel displays. The two said that they will invest $1M in a project to overcome issues in fabricating thin film transistors on low temperature flexible substrates. The USDC portion of the project is being funded by a grant from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. Thin film transistors are used for the manufacture of flat panel displays. The project also include the Arizona State University Flexible Display Center, which the groups said will evaluate Honeywell materials.
