Google Releases SketchUp

Google today released SketchUP, a 3D modeling program it acquired when it purchased Boulder, Colorado-based @Last Software last month, at sketchup.google.com. The search engine giant is providing two versions of SketchUP, a free version which the company said is ideal for creating 3D models for its Google Earth product, and a pro version, which it is making available for purchase. Google had previously made an 8 hour free trial version of the product available immediately after the purchase of @Last; this version now provides a basic, free version with no time limits on the software. Terms of the company's acquisition of @Last were not disclosed last month.
